What does maruu’, mansuub mean in Arabic Grammar?

Assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatu Allahi taala wa barakatuh,
I have a question this time related to Arabic as I started to study Grammar. Question: What is the meaning of Marfuع and Mansuub ? I’ve looked these terms and none can really give me a clear definition, nor can it relate to English (As far as I know), can you please clarify ?
May Allah reward you with great reward

The Answer

Wa alikom asslam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Alhamdulilah.

In terms of grammar, مرفوع and منصوب are both stats of case endings.
So for example, if a verb ends with dammah, we say فعل مرفوع بالضمة , so it’s grammatical state is مرفوع and the sign of رفع is dammah ُ
Each case ending has its typical state, so منصوب goes with fatha and مرفوع with dammah and مكسور with kasra
and finally مجزوم with sukoon
so depending on the case ending you have, it determines one of these cases.

Hope this explains the concept a bit.
