Why does Allah say “and they were worshipers of us” instead of “worshipers of me”?

Assalamualaikum brother,
I hope you are well. I have a question regarding a verse of the quran which i can understand and due to that I’m having some issues. In Qur’an Surah Al Anbiya verse 73, Allah is saying “And they were worshippers of Us” why is Allah saying “and they were worshippers of us” when it should be “And they were worshippers of me”. Cause we worshipper Allah alone. I can’t understand it. Can you explain this verse to me. Jazakumullah Khayr. English – Sahih International And We made them leaders guiding by Our command. And We inspired to them the doing of good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of Zakah; and they were worshippers of Us.

Wa alikom asslam wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

In Arabic, you can use the plural form to convey greatness. In English there is a similar concept which is “Royal We” which is used by monarchs.
I have elaborated on this topic in a separate video, please watch it and let me know if you still have the same question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV8_z80CnEo
